Medicine Buddha Healing Sessions with Ahbay Rinpoche
Recognised by the Dalai Lama at age twelve as the reincarnation of hermit Lama Ahbay Lobsang Tenzin, Ahbay Rinpoche leads the Yega Choling Monastery in South India and travels the world with wisdom and laughter, bringing blessings to Bournemouth this October.
Join us for an intimate, in-person experience with Ahbay Rinpoche offering personalized Buddhist healing, spiritual counselling and advice sessions.

Healing sessions take place in small groups of three, in an intimate and emotionally open format. Each person has 15 minutes with Rinpoche, and you'll also hear from others in your group. We therefore offer and request confidentialtiy during these healing sessions. — please make sure you're comfortable with this before joining.
Each guest will receive a blessing from Rinpoche and will also receive the following:
- Tibetan meditation mala (beads)
- Kata (blessing scarf with the Eight Auspicious Symbols)
- Red blessing cord, and a protection necklace
- Audio CD with Rinpoche's authentic Tibetan Buddhist chanting

About Rinpoche and his conenction with Robert
Lama Ahbay Rinpoche is recognised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the hermit Lama Ahbay Lobsang Tenzin Rinpoche, and as head of the Yega Choling Monastery, responsible for many exiled monks in South India.
Born in Darjeeling in 1973, in exile from Tibet, he became a monk at Gaden Jangtse Monastery in 1980, aged seven. Two years later he took vows under the Dalai Lama's own teacher, Khabche Ling Rinpoche, who named him Thupten Tendar.
In 1985, at twelve, the Dalai Lama recognised him as the reincarnation of the hermit Lama Ahbay Lobsang Tenzin — a cave-dwelling figure famous for his supernatural powers. That year he was enthroned as Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche Jigme Thupten Tendar.
My own connection with Rinpoche goes back to 2010. Having spent five years in a Buddhist monastery myself, I felt an instant bond with him. He encouraged me to start the Dorset Mindfulness Centre, which I ran for twelve years.
Rinpoche visited me in Bournemouth many times, and I hosted him at home. In 2018, he asked, half-seriously, whether I wanted to become a monk again. "Not right now," I said, "maybe when I'm older." He smiled: "What do you want in life at this moment?" "A wife," I said. He laughed radiantly and said, "Okay." That same week I was co-teaching a retreat with Rinpoche— and that's exactly how I met my partner, who was attending.
When my wife became pregnant, Rinpoche blessed her and our yet-unborn child. He returned once Ayana was born, and she received his blessing directly. Now Ayana is seven, delighted to see him again this October.
That's our story of connection with Ahbay Rinpoche. I'm delighted this work, now continuing as the MIRO Institute, empowering people with ADHD, will be blessed by Rinpoche once again.
