About this Event

Washington state’s Medicaid program, Apple Health, is under threat. Federal changes to the program will affect everyone’s health care services and access to care, regardless of insurance coverage.
Join local and state health leaders for a practical, informative discussion about the changes, when they take effect and where to find reliable information and support. The conversation will explore how Washington is responding and efforts to protect access to care in northwest Washington.
Led by Cascadia Daily News health reporter Owen Racer, the panel features:
- Trinity Wilson, Medicaid Director at the Washington State Health Care Authority
- Scott Ryckman, EMS Division Chief, Bellingham Fire Department and Whatcom County Fire District #8
- Bonnie Ross, CEO at Unity Care NW
Topics include changes to Apple Health eligibility and new requirements for some adults, how the state and local providers are impacted by federal policies, and impacts on hospitals, clinics and patients, including people with private insurance or Medicare.
Whether you receive Apple Health, care for someone who does, work in health care or want to understand the impact on our community, you are welcome.
