2026 marks the 25th time that the members and friends of the Montrose Beer and Gun Club (MBGC) come together for the "first annual cook-off and music extravaganza". Our founder, Fred Turton, aka Drew Bradford/Helga Biermeister wanted a way to bring friends together with great food, fantastic music, and the opportunity to benefit the community. Though last year marked ten years since Fred relocated to his "new" headquarters upstairs, we feel he still looks down upon us every year and if pleased with the continuing love and support from everyone involved.The experience is definitely unique with talented cook teams converging on the renowned West Alabama Ice House (@WALABAMA) to present the public with delectable eats all while vying for coveted trophies in five categories, plus the ultimate award of Master Chef.
And we definitely can't forget about the musical talent that fill the stage ALL afternoon! There's a little something for everyone whether you're eight or 80!
For a small gate admission of only $10, you will enjoy an afternoon of delicious fare and live entertainment while benefiting the Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana. (@makeawishtexasgulfcoastandlouisiana)
Along with meeting with friends old and new, you will be able to purchase souvenir Cook-off t-shirts and participate in hourly raffles. Family friendly, so bring the kids (two-legged or four-legged!)
