The Perch is a wonderful venue and arts space near Fishtown/Old Kensington, regularly hosting some of the most creative artists and groups around. BYO drinks and food, and often the hosts share refreshments as well.
Special What is the magical duo of Pete Angevine (drums, percussion, extra) and Bryan Thomas Rogers (saxophone) explore sounds that they describe as "semi-spontaneous, shambolic/shamanic mantric minimalism"
Phantasma is a power-packed quartet featuring Chris Coyle (bassist, lead composer/arranger), Ron Stabinsky (piano), Andrew Urbina (saxophones), and Doug Hirlinger (drums). Their original pieces and unique interplay are best witnessed in person.
BeUs is the latest exciting configuration from Sandy Eldred (bass) and Andrew Urbina (saxophones), two founding members of the exalted U.S.E. Trio - they're joined by Dan Blacksberg (trombone) and Wayne Smith (drums) for a singular adventure in free-flowing improvisation.
