Join us on Friday, November 6, in Remington for a poetry reading to celebrate the release of Maryland poet Matilda Young's new collection, ! Matilda will be in conversation with Baltimore writer and photographer Carlea Holl-Jensen.
About Drift
The poetry in this collection and its cover are grounded in and celebrate Baltimore.
Drift is the first collection of poems by Young, a genderqueer writer, Maryland native, and nature stan. With humor and tenderness and a deep reverence for the natural world, Young explores loneliness and desire, history and trash, love and ambivalence.
Drift will be available for sale at the event!
Matilda Young (she/they) is a writer with an M.F.A. in Poetry from UMD. They have been published in several journals, including Anatolios Magazine, Breakwater Review, and Entropy Magazine’s BLACKCACKLE. She enjoys Edgar Allan Poe jokes, haphazard suburban birding and being obnoxious about the benefits of stovetop popcorn.
Carlea Holl-Jensen was born on a Wednesday. Since then, her fiction has appeared in Black Warrior Review, Fairy Tale Review, Queers Destroy Fantasy!, and McSweeney's. You may also have heard one of the mystery games she wrote advertised on a podcast. She can sometimes be found taking photos in Baltimore cemeteries.
