About this Event
We are thrilled to bring Mataron a Pedro to Montclair, New Jersey for the first time, and we invite our community to join us for a special screening of the film.
ABOUT THE FILM
Mataron a Pedro is the untold story of Pedro Albizu Campos. In the 1930s, farmers turned to a young Black Harvard-educated lawyer to fight for them, despite a political machine in Washington determined to silence them. Told through his relationship with his wife, Laura Meneses, the film captures one of the most turbulent eras in Puerto Rican history. Directed by Kristian Mercado and starring Ismael Cruz Córdova.
