About this Event
Mataron a Pedro makes its New Jersey premiere in Montclair. Join us for a night of film, Bomba, and conversation with the artists who brought Pedro Albizu Campos’s untold story to the screen.
ABOUT THE FILM
Mataron a Pedro is the untold story of Pedro Albizu Campos. In the 1930s, farmers turned to a young Black Harvard-educated lawyer to fight for them, despite a political machine in Washington determined to silence them. Told through his relationship with his wife, Laura Meneses, the film captures one of the most turbulent eras in Puerto Rican history. Directed by Kristian Mercado and starring Ismael Cruz Córdova.
