Mat Pilates is a pilates training practice that can be done on a mat, meaning, no reformer is used. In this class, you hold movements like planks, side planks, and core exercises to build your muscle groups and core strength. A Pilates mat workout that incorporates the classic Pilates sequence is an exceptionally good workout that will provide the foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits, not to mention, of course, that Pilates mat work is the ultimate in core workouts.
About Maria:
Maria has been teaching movement for two decades as her passion! She is a professional dancer specializing in oriental dance. Since the moment Maria was introduced to Pilates, she realized the significance of the impact Pilates practice can have on a body. It is an incomparable well well-balanced strengthening workout for people of any age and physical ability. Pilates has also helped Maria deal with a lower back injury. The exercises in her classes are meant to improve core strength and improve whole-body muscle tone in a gentle but challenging way, connecting the mind, body, and spirit. Maria holds a 550-hour Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Certification and is trained to work on both mat and Pilates equipment, as well as Core Align. She enjoys helping her clients get stronger and move better.
