Masters of Hawaiian Music, with George Kahumoku Jr., Led Kaapana & Jeff Peterson“Virtuosic keepers of a cultural flame.” – The New York Times
Masters of Hawaiian Music features three of the most popular musicians from Maui’s renowned “Slack Key Show.” 4-time Grammy winner, slack key guitar master George Kahumoku Jr, National Heritage Fellow Led Kaapana, whose picking style on slack key guitar is unrivaled and who has just been honored with a Hawai‘i Lifetime Achievement Award, and Jeff Peterson, a multi-award-winning guitar virtuoso of the next generation, known for his technical brilliance and deep expressiveness. Together they share Hawai‘i’s unique slack key (open tuning) guitar styles and songs that trace their roots to the paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys). Growing up in rural Hawai’i and immersed from childhood in Hawaiian music and culture, these multiple award-winners bring living history to the stage, along with entertainment, stories, and good fun.
