I’m coming home, Orangeburg. And if I’m honest, I’m nervous and excited at the same time.There’s something about going home that brings its own inner conversations. Who I was. What I’ve been through. Who I’m still becoming.
Yet here I am—taking another step in the direction I feel God leading me.
On January 16, I’m bringing Masculinity Unmasked: Removing the Armor & Mask to Orangeburg. A space for us as men to breathe, have honest conversations, and learn, grow, and sharpen one another.
I’m holding space for myself in this work, too. I still have things to learn, wounds to tend to, and moments when I have to remind myself: do it scared, but do it anyway.
Sometimes the armor that helped us survive gets heavy. Sometimes we need somewhere we can finally set it down.
My hope is that we leave feeling more connected to ourselves, to one another, and to what’s possible for our lives.
