About this Event
Ma's House and BIPOC Art Studio is a one of a kind artist residency space on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation run by Shinnecock citizen and photographer, Jeremy Dennis. Since 2021, Ma's House has welcomed almost 100 BIPOC artists from across backgrounds and artistic disciplines to create artwork in connection to Shinnecock people, history, and culture.
This program celebrates the community connections that have developed from the residency, starting with an artist panel at 11:30 am featuring Jeremy Dennis and former Ma's House Artists-in-Residence Cecilia Lim, Ella Mahoney, Darlene Deloris, and Malavika Kannan.
The panel will be moderated by Pilar Jefferson, a PhD Candidate in Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley who is writing a dissertation chapter about the Ma's House residency.
The panel will be followed by a Q&A and lunch for all attendees.
