US Concealed Carry Association Basic Pistol and concealed carry class. This course will give you a solid foundation to safely operate and shoot a handgun. It will also introduce you to the fundamentals, knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly and with confidence.
Looking for the Maryland concealed carry license? This class fulfills the training required by the State of Maryland to apply for a permit to carry a concealed firearm. (HQL/ Wear and Carry). Students must attend BOTH days. Renewal training only needs to attend day 1.
Cost is $250 for both days + range fee of $25
Classroom is informal, clean and safe. NO FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.
Lunch, Snacks and non alcoholic drinks are welcome each day.
Students should have a handgun and at least 200 rounds of ammunition and a holster. Maryland dictates a 25 round qualification course to pass the class. Students must hit a person sized silhouette target at distances from 3-15 yards.
Day 1 (Classroom Only)
Course will cover:
- Universal safety rules
- Firearm parts and operation (Revolver/ Pistol)
- Self-defense firearms basics
- Defensive shooting fundamentals
- The legal use of force
- Gear and gadgets
- Basic and advanced skills
- Grip, stance dry fire practice.
Day 2 (Classroom / Live Fire)
Course will cover:
- The importance of carrying and using a pistol responsibly and ethically for personal protection
- Mental awareness
- Mental Preparation to develop a defensive mindset for carrying and using a pistol for personal protection
- Basic principles of concealment
- Presenting a pistol – reholster
- Flash sight picture
- Reload under stress
- Clear common stopages – immediate action drills
- Present a pistol from concealment and reholster
- Cover and concealment
- Present a pistol from concealment and shoot targets at varying distances
- Move off the line of attack and shoot
Student prerequisites:
- Be comfortable in operating and manipulating their firearm safely.
- A strong side hip holster (No SERPA style holsters)
- At least 2 magazine/speed loader and pouch
- Quality belt (designed to carry a firearm strongly recommended)
- At least 250 rounds of ammunition
- Clothing for concealed carry- jacket or button down shirt as cover garment
