At the September 8, 2026 City of Junction City Council Meeting, Honorable Mayor Ken Wells read a Proclamation declaring SEPTEMBER 27th MARY PITNEY DAY in Junction City!Mary was born September 24, 1891 and lived to be 104. She loved to celebrate her birthday and held celebrations at her home where the community was invited to visit.
With that in mind, and to celebrate her incredible legacy, please stop by the Mary Pitney House Museum on September 27th from 1pm - 4pm. There will be several pictures, displays and exhibits honoring Mary and, who knows, you may even see Mary greeting guests as they arrive!
Volunteers will be on hand to tell stories about Mary's incredible life and the history of Junction City!
