This gathering brings singers, musicians, and choirs from four congregations together for an afternoon of music rooted in Detroit’s Black church tradition.

Special performance by La Shaun phoenix Moore!
Marion Hayden, celebrated Detroit-born bassist, co-founder of the Grammy-nominated ensemble Straight Ahead, and 2025 Kresge Eminent Artist, serves as Artistic Director of the Marvelous Things project.
The concert will also be professionally recorded, creating a lasting record of the music and musicians carrying this tradition forward.
