This will be EPIC!Marshall Okell is best known as the front man and driving force behind Marshall & The Fro, but his solo performances strip things back to their rawest and most electrifying form. Armed with a resonator slide guitar, acoustic guitar, foot-driven cajon and tambourine, Marshall delivers a one-man blues-and-boogie experience that feels far bigger than a solo act should.
Blending swampy slide guitar, foot-stomping rhythms and high-energy storytelling, Marshall’s solo shows are equal parts blues revival, hillbilly dance party and back-porch soul session. Performing original material — including reworked favourites from the Marshall & The Fro catalogue — he creates an atmosphere that is deeply interactive, wildly entertaining and impossible not to move to.
For a run of Victorian shows around Torquay, Geelong and the surrounding Surf Coast, Marshall is joined by local legend Manzi, who brings his own completely unique brand of chaos, rhythm and musical mischief to the stage. A familiar face around the Breamlea and Geelong area, Manzi is a true larrikin and one of those rare characters who is impossible to forget once you’ve seen him perform.
Armed with washboards, Blues Harps, LED lights and a handful of 12-gauge shotgun shells worn across his fingers, Manzi adds a raw, percussive edge to the music — along with an irreverent sense of humour and the kind of off-the-cuff energy that makes every show different.
Together, Marshall and Manzi create a loose, unpredictable and seriously entertaining Blues and roots duo, where the music, laughs and audience interaction happen in the moment.
Drawing influence from the raw traditions of blues, country and roots music, Marshall’s performances thrive on groove, charisma and genuine connection with an audience. Whether commanding a packed festival tent, a late-night bar crowd or an intimate acoustic stage, the show is built around rhythm, humour, authenticity and a lifetime spent on the road honing the craft of live entertainment.
With years of touring experience across Australia’s festival and pub circuits, Marshall Okell has earned a reputation as a dynamic and hard-working performer capable of turning any room into a foot-tapping, singalong celebration. Raw, soulful, unpredictable and relentlessly engaging, this special duo show with local favourite Manzi captures the spirit of old-school live music with a uniquely Australian sense of humour and a whole lot of larrikin energy.
Joining them on the night is Ozone Street, no strangers to Torquay, but if you haven't had the pleasure.....
Ozone Street are a four-piece blues fusion outfit hailing from the Bass Coast. Their music has been called “a refreshing blend of vintage blues and surf-tinged melodies that carry listeners from sun-soaked shores to dimly lit blues bars.” Don’t be fooled by their fresh faces—this band delivers a sound that’s raw, electrifying, and impossible to ignore.
With gritty swamp-soaked vocals, driving drums, a thundering bass, and soulful guitar, Ozone Street channel their energy into a sound dripping with grit and groove—launched straight from the gut and fired like a cannon. It’s music that rattles the walls and shakes you to your bones.
This is going to be a great night of swampy, rootsy & stompin' good times Blues from some of the best!
See you there.
