This is great event for anyone who lives in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.About this Event
We hope you can be part of the 2026 Marlow Safari Supper in aid of the Dementia Action Marlow charity. Please spread the word to anyone who you think would like to join the event.
A Safari Supper? What’s that?
A Safari Supper is a dinner party with each course taken at a different person’s house. Not only do you move location within Marlow, but you have each course with a different group of people. For example, your starter may be hosted in Claremont Gardens at 6.45pm. At 7.45pm your main course is hosted in Institute Road with an entirely different group of guests. At 9.00pm your dessert is hosted round the corner on Mill Rd again with an entirely different group of guests. Everybody dines in three homes in the town. All the host houses will be located in close proximity to each other and will be a maximum of 10 minutes walk apart. The dining tables are usually set for eight guests which means that you’ll meet over 20 different people during the three supper courses. When you buy your tickets with a friend or partner then the two of you will stay to together throughout the three supper courses. Feedback from other similar events is that it's great fun and an excellent way to meet like-minded, local people.

I want to be a host. What do I need to know?
Everybody including the hosts will dine in three homes in the town. If you decide to host one of the three courses in your home you just need to make sure everything is ready when your guests arrive. For example if you are hosting the main course, then at 6.45pm you will have your starter at another hosts home nearby and then pop back home to serve the main course for your 8 guests at 7.45pm., (including yourselves). At 9pm you head off to your dessert course host to dine with another completely different group of guests. Best to leave the dishes until later!
To make sure that guests can easily walk between courses, all hosts ideally need to live in central Marlow.... roughly from the river to Queens Rd and from Foxes Piece through to the Hand and Flowers. This includes the area around the Claremonts, Sandygate, Foxes Piece, Riverpark Drive, Gossmoor, Pound Lane. West St, Quotings and the brewery developments.
We need hosts so please try to help if you can. It will involve a bit of time and effort but remember it will be fun and it's for a great cause. You can make your own food for your guests or to make things easier, Cook Foodshop on Spittle Street have very kindly given the charity a discount and will provide the food for each course.
The host has to collect the course, defrost it and pop it in the oven ready for your guests. You won't need to pay for the food from the Marlow Cook Foodshop. It is all paid for and will be ready for collection the day before the event. http://www.cookfood.net/menu/entertaining/cook-for-a-crowd . You are more than welcome to cook your own starter, main course or dessert.
The host tickets are also discounted to £24-£38 per person (a maximum of two host tickets to be purchased per house). When you buy your host tickets with a friend or partner then the two of you will stay to together throughout the three supper courses. Just select two host tickets for either a starter course, main course or dessert from the selection available.
As a host– we’ll tell you five days in advance who your guests will be. We will also tell you where you’re going for your other two courses...be they either the starter, main or dessert courses.
I want to be a guest without any hosting. What do I need to know?
