Marketing Essentials: Build Your Pitch, Define Your Personas
Hands on marketing workshop for start-ups: define what you do, craft a strong elevator pitch and understand your customers' buying personas.
Marketing covers an expansive and multi-faceted range of skills and disciplines often requiring specialist knowledge and training. However, at its core it is about selling your product or service to your customers. And from a start-up business perspective you need to be able to identify and explain quickly what it is you do and understand who your customers are.
This workshop is a practical hands-on session, not a lecture on principles, that will help you get to grips with these key ideas and leave you with a start on these for your business. We will cover:
• Creating an elevator pitch for your business to convey a clear understanding of what you are offering.
• Develop a better understanding of your customers, why this is important and how to do it.
• Why use buying personas? It allows you to better understand your customers priorities not your own.
Elizabeth Blake is Managing Director of Apple Orchard Marketing and has over 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing across healthcare, from global companies to start-ups.
Originally trained as a podiatrist, Elizabeth moved into pharmaceutical sales before building a career in orthopaedics and healthcare marketing. She has launched new products and divisions for established businesses and joined start-ups as their first commercial hire—creating brands, marketing plans, customer personas and sales pitches from scratch.
She understands what it’s like to have a great idea and need to turn it into a clear, compelling proposition that connects with the right people.
