About this Event
Mark Binelli presents Just a Shot Away: Martin Scorsese's Life in Film
In conversation with Dinaw Mengestu
Local author Mark Binelli (Detroit City is the Place to Be) returns to Greenlight with Just a Shot Away (Metropolitan; 11/3), the first major biography of Martin Scorsese, one of the world’s foremost living filmmakers. A book as stylish and audacious as the director’s movies, Just a Shot Away draws on previously unseen sources, original research, and new interviews to reveal the origins, genius, and influence of his life and work. Binelli reads from and discusses the book with returning novelist Dinaw Mengestu (Someone Like Us), before an audience Q&A and signing.
