NORDIC CHRISTMAS
This festive program celebrates the beginning of the holiday season with music from near and far. From the classical elegance of Chopin and the jazzy sophistication of Irving Berlin to the haunting folk songs of Iceland and Ireland and the bright lights of Broadway, Nordic Christmas brings together beloved melodies and unexpected musical treasures for a joyful celebration of the season.
Performed by a choir celli and violas, the rich sounds of these low strings will envelope you in the cozy and candelit space of King Family Vineyards.
For the first time, Marinus will feature artists from its stellar roster including Katelyn Petersen Kuipers, Joseph Kuipers ("One of the rare musical voices of today"- Berliner Abend Post), and Rachel Yonan ("intimate and full of character" -BBC Music Magazine), together with a collection of fantastic players from our region, including UVA Professors Ayn Balija, Angel Parham and Adam Carter, and Beth Cantrell, Andrew Gabbert. Joining us on stage are four outstanding young cellists from our local community.
5PM | Candlelit Concert in the Carriage House. (Please select this concert if you plan to attend with children. The program will be the same, but this concert will be more interactive.)
6:30PM | King Family Wine available for purchase in the Carriage House or on the Carriage House patio (weather permitting) with a limited menu. The King Family Vineyards Tasting Room closes at 5:30 PM. If you wish to arrive early for wine and a full Tasting Room menu of wines, please arrive at King Family prior to 5 pm.
