We will be celebrating fiber through art exhibits,
workshops, vendors, demonstrations and short films.
Food and drink options will be available.
Our mission is to celebrate and promote the sustainable use of natural fibers in textiles, the arts, and everyday life through stewardship, education, and community building. We support existing fiber farmers and strengthen the southeastern animal fiber industry by building markets for wool, expanding opportunities for collaboration, and creating space for learning, sales, and shared enjoyment.
Through education for youth and adults, we teach the art, history, and cultural context of fiber, helping people understand where their clothing comes from and fostering pride in local materials.
By connecting fiber art students with local artists, farmers, and products, and by nurturing a strong fiber community in Athens and surrounding towns, we aim to grow a resilient, vibrant regional fiber ecosystem.
