Greetings, Momentum Family!I am a powerful, risk-taking and courageous leader. My name is David Alexis, LT 222, #SoDivineSoTrue.
Many of you don't know me yet, so I want to be straight about who's asking and why.
My fellow Momentum alum Cynette Fyou(Cynette Wilson) and I co-founded Édé, a Brooklyn nonprofit. Together with Pastor Sander Cameau, we're kicking off the Feed Your Soul Tour on Saturday, November 21, from 2 to 5 PM: free hot meals for more than 1,000 neighbors across Central and East Brooklyn. No forms, no income test, no questions.
The tour honors Sander's late mother, Marie Evelyn Charles, who fed her community from her own table until her last breath. Her table is still open, and I'm asking you to help set it.
Right now, families across Brooklyn are stretching the last of their groceries to Friday. And if you've been looking for a place to put what you created in Momentum into action, this is it.
My request:
Give by Friday, October 31. Any amount counts: $50 helps feed a family, and $410 sponsors a full pan of hot food, start to finish, for about 20 neighbors. I'm looking for 100 of you to give.
Serve on November 21. If you're in New York, we need 30 volunteers. Comment SERVE or message me by November 14.
Pledge a pan by November 14, if you cook from a licensed or commercial kitchen. Email [email protected].
How we'll know we did it: we reach $25,000, every volunteer shift is filled, and everyone who walks in on November 21 leaves fed. I'll post our progress here every week.
You're free to say yes, no, or make a counteroffer. If you can't give or serve, sharing this post counts.
Questions? Comment below or message me. I'll answer every one.
