STEM Facilitation PD:Reflection, Relevance, and Youth Voice
This session focuses on elevating youth voice and making STEM meaningful. Participants will explore strategies for embedding reflection throughout activities, connecting STEM to real-world contexts in authentic ways, and giving youth greater ownership of their learning. Through role-play and redesign exercises, educators will strengthen their ability to facilitate discussion and relevance.
STEM Facilitation Professional Development Series
The purpose of this series is to provide both new and veteran informal/afterschool educators alike with new tools, resources, and practices to provide high quality STEM experiences to youth in the out of school time environment. The series will engage attendees in a variety of small group, hands on, problem and project-based learning activities. Whether you are comfortable leading STEM activities or not—these sessions are for you to help build capacity in a fun, supportive environment!
