About this Event
This workshop is offered on two dates: Saturday 16 May and Saturday 6 June at 11:30am. Please select your preferred date when booking.
In advance of the performance Mapping Journeys – Grounding Roots on June 20 at The Hellenic Centre (performance details and tickets here), theatre artist-researcher Christina Kapadocha offers two group workshops in body-based creative writing and expression.
Drawing on Christina’s creative methodology, these sessions invite participants to write and share from their own embodied experiences through a gentle three-part process: mapping our journeys, grounding our roots, centring our identities.
Activities include simple movement and sensory reflection followed by short writing prompts, adaptable to your comfort level. Sharing is always optional, and no previous writing or artistic experience is needed.
The workshops offer calm, supportive spaces to reflect on personal stories, cultural connections, experiences of migration and refuge.
When: Saturdays May 16 and June 6 at 11:30am.
Sessions last approximately 90 minutes and take place at the Hellenic Centre. The workshop content is the same on both dates, so participants may attend either session, subject to availability.
With consent, sessions may be audio-recorded for research purposes.
Places are limited, booking essential.
For any enquiries, please email Christina Kapadocha at [email protected].
