Come join us for a day of learning manual therapy techniques for the treatment of lower extremity injuries while connecting with allied healthcare professionals.
Palpation is one of the foundational pillars of manual therapy and allows practitioners to more precisely identify dysfunction in the body. It also improves the effectiveness of manual treatment, helping the practitioner know how to unwind tissue, recognize subtle rigidity versus hypermobility and know when a technique has been successful. The concepts of osteopathic palpation, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques and bone unwinding will be taught and extrapolated to the treatment of the hip, knee, ankle and foot.
This 8 hour workshop is designed for health care professionals who have manual therapy within their scope of practice (Kinesiologists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Massage Therapists and Osteopaths). Whether you are a new grad or a seasoned professional, this workshop will build on current skills, add a new lens to treatment and give individuals the opportunity to learn from peers from different professions.
About the Instructor: Shelley is a physiotherapist with 30 years experience working as a manual therapist in private practice, and designing and leading workshops for clinicians. She is passionate about holistic wellness and has studied osteopathy, holistic nutrition, movement, manual therapy and is currently doing a masters in counselling. She is passionate about learning and understanding the body to help empower clients on their journey to wellness.
