About this Event
To this day, Oakes Ames is still considered one of the foremost orchidologists. Join us for a 30-minute tour and learn about Oakes and his botanical work while we explore the first floor of the Ames Mansion together. First floor only. For adults and older children. Meet in front of the Ames Mansion. Rain or shine. Tour is free. Parking fees apply.
The Ames Mansion at Borderland State Park was built in 1910 by Oakes and Blanche Ames. This three-story stone mansion hosts twenty large rooms and is fully furnished, much as they were when the Ames family lived here.
