MANIFESTOS OF MOTHERHOOD with Catrin Kemp & Emma Rytoft

Spend the day delving into empowering feminist narratives of matrescence and motherhood. Together we will explore the language of mothering and create manifestos for the beautiful, complicated, flawed human beings we are - and are becoming.
Guided by award-winning writer and founder of The New Mothers' Writing Circle Catrin Kemp, alongside Berlin-based painter and muralist Emma Rytoft, we will gather for an expansive, generous and soul enriching day of writing, talking, sharing and making.
The space will be confidential and allow you to explore some of the less-discussed, often less palatable aspects of motherhood. Anyone who identifies as a mother - whether through birth, adoption, fostering or surrogacy, or as the non-birthing patner in a Queer relationship - is welcome. Expect laughter, tears, nods of recognition, a day of unmasking and creativity.
Come away with a manifesto for YOUR motherhood - a piece you've written and drawn, which you can return to again and again throughout the invisible highs and lows of being a mother.
Please come dressed in clothes you can paint in. We will provide all of the materials. You will need your own notebook and pen, and an open mind and heart. We will break for lunch - you are welcome to order in advance from our venue (Zwischenraum) or head out to a local cafe with some of the other mothers to grab a bite.

This is a day about YOU, when your brain and body can focus and experiment without the demands of child-rearing. Emma and Catrin will care for you and hold space for you.
