Managing Land Holistically: 3 Day Course

3 Day Course November 30th- December 2nd 2026 8:30 AM-5:00PM

Day 1: Foundations of Holistic Management - We will dive head first into understanding our place in our environment and creating a quality life around our families, communities, farms and ranches. Being able to read the land is fundamental to understand our finances and the role of grazing. We will go over the Holistic Managment Framework and help you create a holistic context that will instill you with the power to make the decisions you need to improve your life and land.

Day 2: Holistic Financial Planning- Our goal the first half of this day is to help your see possibilities of profitability solely through the land in a way that boosts its value and cashflow of your enterprise. Holistic Financial Planning brings traditional financial planning into syc with your Holistic context and how you want your life to be. Bring your numbers! During the second half of the day we

• Make a gross profit analyses aligned with your Holistic Context.
• Experience a real life Financial Planning brainstorm session!
• Build a Cashflow forecast
• Really learn how to control your expenses

• Identifying Logjams and how to deal with them.

Day 3: Holistic Planned Grazing - Proactively creat the landscape you want without having to spend more time or money. Just learn to plan and find the weaknesses and strengths of your operation. You know your land best, but this planning process will break down and identify the blindspots on your ground. Learn from the experience of thousands of ranchers that led to the original grazing planning method that has been referred by many names: such as "rotational grazing", "adaptive grazing", "mob grazing", "intensive grazing", etc.

• Address and Identify the landscape you are wanting to create.
• Make a grazing plan that will achieve your financial goals on the land.
• The how and why Holistic Planned Grazing improves animal performance and numbers on your ranch.
• Minimize overgrazing and how to easily measure what forage is available and increase forage yields with Ecosystem management tools
• Understand the recovery needs of plants
• Drought planning

We will identify the origins of the insights discovered about how animals are key to regenerating our vast landscapes. You will learn how to read the land and identify if the 4 ecosystem processes are functioning or not. The ecosystem management tools will be introduced so you know how to effect the ecosystem processes. The decision making context checks will be introduced so you can check decisions you are considering and avoid unintended consequences in your life.
