Managing Grief at Christmas – Workshop Overview
Christmas can be an especially difficult time for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. A season traditionally associated with joy, family and togetherness can often magnify feelings of grief, loneliness and the absence of someone special.
Our Managing Grief at Christmas workshop offers a warm, welcoming and understanding space where individuals can come together, share experiences and receive practical advice on navigating the festive season while grieving.
The workshop will explore:
● Understanding grief at Christmas – recognising the emotions, memories and challenges this time of year can bring.
● Coping strategies – practical ways to manage difficult emotions, family gatherings, traditions and expectations.
● Remembering loved ones – finding meaningful ways to honour and include those who are no longer with us.
● Looking after yourself – recognising your own needs, setting boundaries and allowing yourself to grieve in your own way.
● Connection and support – providing a safe space to talk, listen and connect with others who understand loss.
Importantly, this workshop is open to everyone experiencing bereavement, regardless of the circumstances of their loss. Whether through illness, a road traffic collision, suicide, sudden death or any other circumstance, everyone is welcome.
You do not need to be receiving support from our charity to attend.
Our message is simple: You don’t have to face Christmas alone, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
Our hope is that everyone leaves feeling a little more supported, understood and equipped to navigate Christmas in a way that feels right for them.
