Originally premiering on Broadway in 1965, this timeless classic stars local favorite Charles Herrera in the unforgettable role of Don Quixote.
While awaiting trial before the Inquisition, the writer Miguel de Cervantes stages a play as his defense, transforming fellow prisoners into actors in the remarkable story of Alonso Quijano—a man who abandons ordinary reality to become the noble knight Don Quixote de La Mancha. Joined by his loyal squire Sancho Panza, Quixote embarks on an extraordinary journey of courage, compassion, and impossible dreams, all while pursuing the woman he sees as the beautiful Lady Dulcinea.
Filled with humor, heart, and hope, Man of La Mancha culminates in one of the most celebrated songs in musical theater history, "The Impossible Dream," an anthem that continues to inspire audiences around the world.
