Different hands bring the wood and the skin. Different hands bind them together. And then, the chenda is born.
What was craft becomes art. What was material becomes music. What was skin stretched across wood becomes one of the most sacred sounds Kerala has ever known.
Vattam means circle.
Every hand essential. Every world present. Every community, a note in the same composition.
A celebration of the diversity and unity that births art.
Vattam.
