From local ingredients to your own sausage! What kind of meat do you have in the freezer? What did you pick up at the farmers' market? What did you hunt yourself?
Now let’s turn it into sausage.
Join Mama G for a hands-on evening of sausage-making and learn the fundamentals of making your own sausage at home.
We’ll talk about choosing your meat, building flavour, seasoning, mixing and forming, and the equipment and techniques that make the process easier. We’ll also get into sausage casings, including natural hog casings, and where to find them.
And then we get to have some fun.
Because sausage doesn't have to mean the same old flavours every time. Have some haskaps, blueberries or cranberries tucked away in the freezer? Let's put them to work. Play with sweet, savoury, spicy and unexpected combinations and discover just how creative sausage-making can be.
And what is a great sausage without mustard?
We're going to have some fun with that, too. We'll bring a few of our favourite mustards and explore how different flavours can completely change the experience of your sausage. Sweet, spicy, tangy, grainy... mustard deserves a little more attention.
No unnecessary fillers. No mystery ingredients. Just good meat, good ingredients and flavour you created yourself.
Come ready to get your hands dirty.
Mama G will bring the sausage-making know-how. You bring the appetite.
