Did you know that native trees, shrubs, and flowers can improve air quality, reduce summer air temperatures, attenuate storm water flow, and provide important pollinator habitat?

• Fall is the ideal time to add new trees & shrubs to your yard. Planted before freezeup, they will spend the winter extending their roots without the need for extra watering until spring.
• Don't be frightened of planting large trees. They grow slowly and can eventually provide cooling shade and beauty to your home. Most gardens have unlimited vertical space!
• Please bring viable non-GMO seeds and perennial seedlings to trade with other area gardeners.
• Sample food prepared from our garden including goldenrod tea, goldenrod jelly, and sunchokes.
• Visit representatives of other environmental groups operating in Toronto, including Toronto's Forestry Department -- the providers of these native trees & shrubs. Be sure to bring your tree & gardening questions!

Our Community Garden provides fresh organic produce to area Food Banks & to our volunteers tables. Volunteers are on hand all summer long to answer your garden questions, but we need your help to make our Garden grow!

Info: Malvern's own indigenous elder will help us celebrate a successful harvest and through sacred protocol, prayer, and medicine offerings, ground ourselves in gratitude, set positive intentions for our garden, and renew our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and reciprocity with Mother Earth.

Info: Neilson Park Community Garden is operated entirely by volunteers. All produce is shared amongst volunteers, area food banks, and other social service agencies. We need YOUR HELP! Please VOLUNTEER or donate to help our garden grow.
