Making Spirits Bright: Women in Business Giving Back
’Tis the season for giving and spreading cheer and this year, we are coming together to support families, seniors, and vulnerable youth through Volunteer Nanaimo's Christmas Angels program for the holidays.
Join us for an evening of gift wrapping, Christmas card writing (for isolated community members), cookie eating, and, well, let’s be honest, some good old-fashioned socializing on November 25, 2026, from 6-8pm at Pure Spa Nanaimo!
This event is open to all women in business on the Island, not just women in the Living in Balance space.
About our Christmas Angels:
Volunteer Nanaimo's Christmas Angels program helps low-income families, seniors, and vulnerable youth in the Nanaimo community enjoy a happier Christmas.
Through the program, community members can sponsor a family or individual, contribute gifts and essential items, or make financial donations to help fulfill holiday wishes.
Stay tuned for more information about who we will be supporting and their specific needs.
How You Can Contribute:
🎁 Wishlist Gifts | The Christmas Angels program helps fulfill the wishes of families, seniors, and vulnerable youth who could use some extra support during the holidays. If you would like to provide a larger wishlist item or money towards it, please send an email to [email protected], or connect with the woman who invited you to this event, so that we can share with you what has been requested, and to also make sure that we can cover as much ground as possible, and help our Christmas Angels feel safe, supported, and even a bit spoiled this season!
🛒 Groceries | Grocery gift cards and turkey vouchers are among the most requested items through the Christmas Angels program. These help families, seniors, and individuals purchase food and enjoy a special holiday meal. If you would like to contribute to their "food fund", please send an email to [email protected] and we can coordinate the details, or you can bring cash, or send e-transfers in-person, at the event.
♥️ We would love to provide our Christmas Angels with a nice stock(ing) of the essentials. You know, those pesky hygiene items that feel really inconvenient to need to buy when money is tight, but truly make all the difference when you have them available to you, and some fun extras. It is Christmas time after all! Ideas to get you started in this department are: body wash/bar soap, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other personal hygiene items. Volunteer Nanaimo also welcomes tea towels, bath towels, sport socks, fuzzy blankets, colouring books, art supplies, headphones, and movie passes.
🌟 And of course, cash is always a huge help! Cash contributions will be put towards larger gifts, grocery gift cards, or missing items off of their lists.
