This is an opportunity to come together to acknowledge the grief that we all carry, but which is mostly hidden from view. Grief begins to feel less burdensome when we honour it and allow it to be witnessed. It is often a doorway into more love, gratitude and connection. For the past few years, Lucie Mayer and Jackie Singer have been offering a community gathering around this time of year, which coincides with All Souls' Day and the Mexican Day of the Dead. As the season shifts and the trees let go of their leaves, it's become an annual revisiting of loss and remembrance.
Join us to experience some ways to remember those we mourn, and make space for your own feelings and those of others, as and when they arise. Through breath and awareness practices, song, movement and ritual, we can increase our capacity to express and live alongside strong feelings.
We hope you will leave with a lighter heart and some tools for emotional resilience to carry into the future for yourself and your community.
"The work of a mature person is to carry grief in one hand and gratitude in the other and to be stretched large by them." Francis Ward Weller
