About this Event
Making Good Trouble
A Civic Engagement Series presented by The Industry Suites, in collaboration with The Malcolm X Center for Self-Determination.
Mission:
Making Good Trouble exists to transform awareness into action—equipping our community with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to claim civic power and shape the policies that govern our lives.
Chapters:
Each chapter (Event) within the "Making Good Trouble" 4-Part Series breaks down into four main goals
- Education - short practical talks on how policy affects daily life (schools, housing, business, saftey)
- Activation - on site tools such as voter registration form, portals, or QR resources and next-step guidance
- Conversation - curated table discussions on real community issues
- Culture - community rooted environment with music, and refreshments
Why it Matters:
Local decisions shape everyday life—from zoning and school policy to business opportunity and public
safety. In low-turnout elections, a small number of informed voters can determine outcomes. Making Good
Trouble builds civic infrastructure so our community can show up informed, organized, and empowered.
