About this Event
If you've taken our New to Sewing class or you have some sewing experience, but haven't made a "real" project yet, join us for making a zippy pouch using the pattern from Sassafrass Lane! After this class, you will have foundational bag-making skills that can be applied to more complex projects.
Taught by Gracie Devine
By the end of this two-hour class, students will be able to:
- Read a sewing pattern
- Re-size a zipper
- Install a zipper pull
- Install hardware
- Confidently change sewing machine feet
Pre-requisites:
- Must be comfortable threading your machine
- Must be able to wind a bobbin
- Must be able to replace empty bobbin
Materials Included:
- Your choice of cotton or cork
- Zipper tape and pull
- Pattern
- 5/8" D-ring
- Choice of matching thread
Equipment needed:
You are encouraged to bring your own machine, but we have machines in the shop you can borrow. There is an option to use a 1/4" foot and zipper foot - if you do not have one and want to try it, we have some available to borrow and/or purchase.
