About this Event

Want to learn the basics of woodworking?

Come join our monthly training session to learn how to get started. We’ll cover:

  • Drop saw and hand saws - learn how to measure and cut your wood to size
  • Drills and the drill press - accurately make holes and start joining your pieces
  • Learn how to sand your piece with the orbital sander and prepare it for finishing
  • How to operate the shop vacuum system and air compressor

Tools that we won’t cover in this session include: table saw, band saw, plunge saw, router and metalworking tools e.g. angle grinder.

With practical demos, examples, and a few creative challenges, you’ll leave with a strong grasp of these tools and the confidence to take on your own woodworking projects.

⚠️ This workshop focuses on basic tools and techniques. The point is to get your hands on the tools so you can come back and use the workshop on your own. You will not complete your own project in this workshop.

⚠️ Please note that some of the machinery in the FabLab may be dangerous, and all participants are required to sign a liability waiver before attending.

About FabLab Neukölln

The FabLab Neukölln is a collaboration powered by 42berlin and workish.berlin. It’s a maker space, creative workshop, and hardware lab, right here in Neukölln.

The 150sqm FabLab is split into two. A dirt lab with woodworking and metal working equipment, perfect for making dust and loud noises. Across the hall, you’ll find a clean lab equipped with a 3D printer, laser cutter, and textile lab where your electronics or more delicate projects can come to life.

Our space was created to provide fair access to equipment, training, and community for students, experienced makers, and garage inventors alike. What will you come up with? Apply for the next onboarding session.
