In this hands-on class, you’ll decorate a planchette, design a set of elegant calling cards, and craft a spirit-writing book for recording messages, observations, and imagined communications.Along the way, we’ll explore the history, symbolism, and theatrical traditions of Victorian séances including: automatic writing, mediums, spiritualist gatherings, and the objects used to create an atmosphere of mystery. No supernatural experience is required - just curiosity and a love of unusual, historical crafts.
You’ll leave with a personalized Victorian séance kit and a glimpse into one of history’s most fascinating movements.
