About this Event
Slow Your Roll: Slow Feeder Wheel Workshop
Make something special for your favorite furry friend! Join us at The Pottery Shop for a wheel throwing class where you’ll create your own ceramic slow feeder bowl, with raised sections designed to encourage a slower mealtime.
We’ll guide you through shaping your bowl on the pottery wheel and creating its interior design. Expect clay-covered hands, a little experimentation, and a piece with its own personality. No wheel experience needed!
$55 per person | Ages 16+
Your workshop includes:
- Guided wheel throwing instruction
- Clay, tools, and materials
- One slow feeder bowl to keep
- Your choice of color from the available options
- Studio finishing, glazing, and firing
You make it—we handle the color! Choose your color during class, and our team will finish and fire your bowl for you. No return painting session is needed.
Your piece will stay with us for drying, finishing, and firing. We’ll text you when it’s ready for pickup. Finished shapes and sizes will vary—each bowl is handmade by you!
Seats are limited. Reserve your wheel and make your pet’s next favorite bowl.
Once your piece dries, we'll fire it in the kiln and your finished piece will be ready to take home in approximately 4–6 weeks.
Important Things to Know
This is a beginner friendly level recreational pottery experience. We’ll focus on guiding you through throwing a slow feeder pet bowl, but is skill-based and every participant’s results will vary.
We cannot guarantee that you will create a fire-able piece or achieve the demonstrated shape. If you do not end the session with a piece suitable for firing, you may choose a finished piece as a memento of your session.
Ceramics are an extremely unpredictable medium, and we are unable to guarantee pieces won't crack during the multiple phases of the process, including drying, bisque firing and glaze firing. Ceramics also shrink approximately 15% from the time you throw your piece through final firing.
