About this Event
Make Something You’ll Actually Want to Show Off!
A cutting board that looks 3D? Even cooler when you can say you made it yourself!
Join us at Southwest School of Woodworking for a fun, hands-on class where you’ll turn real wood into a beautiful chevron cutting and serving board!
You’ll work with woodworking tools and machines, learn new skills, and create an amazing 3D effect using contrasting colors of wood.
Best of all, you’ll take home your own handmade cutting board, finished with a food-safe protectant and ready to use in your kitchen or give as a special gift!
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
● Edge Gluing: Learn how to join pieces of wood together.
● Jointing and Planing: Prepare wood for a smooth, professional finish.
● Router Use: Learn to use a router to shape and finish wood.
● Template Routing: Create accurate shapes and details.
● Sanding and Finishing: Give your board a beautiful, food-safe finish.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
Anyone who loves being creative, wants to discover their creative side, enjoys working with their hands, or just wants to try something new!
Come on your own, bring a friend, make it a fun outing with a group, or come meet new people!
Whether you’re a complete beginner, a hobbyist, or an experienced woodworker, everyone is welcome.
It’s a great chance to get out of the house, have some fun, share a few laughs, learn something new, and go home with something you made yourself!
WHY TAKE THIS CLASS?
Because there’s something pretty cool about taking a few pieces of wood and turning them into something beautiful with your own hands! You’ll leave with new skills, a great experience, and a one-of-a-kind cutting board you’ll be proud to show off.
