About this Event
*This is a two-part class with the first session on September 23 and the second session on September 30th, both from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Using contrasting hardwoods, you’ll learn how to carefully arrange and glue pieces together to create a striking geometric pattern. During the second session, you’ll sand, route, and apply a food-safe finish to complete your board.
Session One: Assembly and Glue-Up
- Arrange the hardwood pieces to create your pattern
- Learn proper glue-up and clamping techniques
- Keep the pieces aligned for a clean, consistent design
- Prepare the board for final shaping and finishing
Session Two: Shaping and Finishing
- Flatten and sand the cutting board
- Use a router to shape the edges and add the finishing details
- Prepare the surface for use
- Apply a durable, food-safe finish
By the end of the second session, you’ll take home a completed patterned cutting board that is ready to use or give as a handmade gift!

Dates: Wednesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 30
Time: 6:30–9:30 PM both evenings
Cost: $160 per person
Experience Level: Intermediate—some previous woodworking experience is recommended

Registration includes both class sessions, as well as all wood, materials, tools, and safety equipment.
- What to Bring
Closed-toed shoes are required. Please avoid loose clothing and jewelry. All other materials, tools, and safety equipment are provided. No Crocs!
- Cancellation Policy
We can offer a full refund or transfer of registration up to seven days before the first class session. There are no refunds or transfers within seven days of the class.
