Torch Working StudioFriday, December 11
5:30-7:30pm
Price: $60
Discover the art and purpose behind Journey Beads in this Make It! flame working class. Journey Beads are handcrafted glass beads that celebrate milestones, inspire hope, and remind children facing cancer and serious illness to take their journey one bead at a time.
During this two-hour class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of flame working as you use colorful glass rods, a mandrel, and a tabletop torch to create some of the beautiful beads used in our Journey Beads program. Working side-by-side with one of our talented artists, you’ll discover the techniques behind these meaningful handcrafted beads while learning about the impact they have on the children and families who receive them.
This class is the perfect introduction for anyone interested in supporting the Journey Beads program or exploring the art of bead making. Completion of this class does not automatically qualify you as an official Journey Beads volunteer bead maker, but it is the first step on that path. Graduates are eligible to enroll in our two-day Official Journey Beads Volunteer Training Course.
