Stella Ögmundsdóttir útskrifaðist úr textíldeild Myndlistarskólans í Reykjavík 2024 og hannar undir nafninu Fözz Studio [https://fozzstudio.com/]. Stella vinnur nær eingöngu með endurnýtt efni í verkum sínum og fær efniviðurinn oftar en ekki að ráða ferðinni í hennar sköpun.
Borgarbókasafnið í Gerðubergi tekur þátt í þriggja ára alþjóðlegu verkefni sem nefnist make-a-thek. [https://www.makeathek.eu/] Markmið verkefnisins er að skapa vettvang fyrir sköpun og handavinnu af ýmsu tagi, deila þekkingu og læra nýjar aðferðir til að endurnýta föt og annan textíl. Verkefnið er styrkt af New Horizon styrk frá Evrópusambandinu og eru 9 almenningsbókasöfn um alla Evrópu þátttakendur í verkefninu.

Let's crochet a beautiful, simple scrap-yarn sweater designed by Stella from Fözz Studio.
Join us at the Gerðuberg City Library for three Wednesday evenings in October as we crochet together.
Perfect for both beginners and more experienced crocheters. Help and guidance will be available throughout the sessions.
This is a three-part workshop series, where we'll meet on three Wednesday evenings in October to work on the sweater together.

Stella Ögmundsdóttir graduated from the Textile Department of the Reykjavik School of Visual Arts in spring 2024. She creates garments and textile works under the name Fözz Studio. [https://fozzstudio.com/] Stella works exclusively with recycled materials in her practice, and more often than not, the available materials themselves guide the creative process.
Gerðuberg City Library is taking part in a three-year international project called Make-a-thek. [https://www.makeathek.eu/] The aim of the project is to create a space for creativity and a wide range of craft activities, where people can share knowledge and learn new ways to repair, remake, and upcycle clothing and other textiles.
The project is funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe programme, and nine public libraries from across Europe are participating.
