About this Event
We are organizing a series of walks to bring you closer to connect with the slow magic and beauty that Maju Forest brings to Singapore.
What to Expect
- Warm up exercises to prepare the body and mind before starting
- Interactive activities to connect deeply with nature during the walk
- A 2.5-3 hour walk into the heart of Maju Forest where we will learn about the forest's history and ecological systems, identify and learn about native flora and fauna, and visit the forest stream.
- Uneven, unmarked and muddy terrain
- Experienced nature and hiking guides who will help facilitate and provide assistance if needed
Route Details
- This route is a different route from our previous Community Walks. It is a much more immersive adventure that will take us into the heart of the forest, with more elevation and technical terrain.
- We will explore the heart of Maju Forest; visiting historical sites, ecologically significant areas, and the Giants of Maju.
- Expect to walk and move through foliage, and use your hands for balance and movement. It is still beginner friendly, and might feel intense for those entering the deep forest for the first time.
- Meeting Point at Clementi Arcade
- Start at Sunset Way Entrance
- Exit via Bus Stop along Clementi Road opposite Brookvale drive (after the tunnel)
What to Bring
- Good hiking shoes (Mandatory - The trail has elevation and may be muddy so no sandals)
- Raincoat or Poncho (in case of light rain)
- Long sleeves and long pants
- Insect repellent
- Water and snacks
- Hat/Shades (Optional)
- Hiking poles (if necessary)

The Maju Forest Project
This immersive walk is a part of a larger ongoing project that we started with the vision of creating a more eco-conscious society. Through our structured programmes and community engagement, we aim to build greater connection and awareness, and inspire curiousity and awe around our Maju Forest and in extension, our forests, that would lead to more stewardship of our spaces.
This event is largely volunteer-run, and is funded through donation basis. All funds raised will go towards sustaining our efforts and our activities.
About Us
We are a group of adventure seekers, nature enthusiasts, and Sunset Way residents who regularly hike and play in nature in the nearby Maju & Clementi Forest, as well as many other off-the-beaten path trails in Singapore. Follow our Instagram page (@greatoutdoors sg) for more updates!
