About this Event
This is for you. Yeah, I’m talking to you! Are you struggling to start something? Are you caught in a daily battle against imposter syndrome? All the while knowing, deep down, that you have something to say - a profound, silly or powerful work that you have to share with the world. (Maybe it’s all three!) But you are struggling to take that first leap…
Consider this your sign. To quote Victoria Monet: “It’s your mother f***ing moment”
Join Temi Wilkey on a three part workshop series inspired by the creation and development of her debut solo show Main Character Energy. She’s dug deep within herself and managed to pull out a fistful of glitter and so can you!
This series will help you Take Up Space, Break the Mould and Shake the Table within your artistry. Each workshop will help you develop the creation of a joyful and expansive creative practice that is unique to you. The Main Character Energy workshop series is an odyssey into a much maligned but key component of making art - self-indulgence!
These workshops are trans-disciplinary - designed for any kind of artist or aspiring artist.
They may be particularly suited to people wanting to develop their first piece of live, long-form work in theatre, comedy or cabaret. But they’re much more about empowering you to develop your own creative process and unique practise rather than any specific kind of product. So they are open to all!

Why would you want to workshop with Temi?
Well…
She's an award-winning writer, performer and showgirl who’s debut solo show Main Character Energy was described as “a five star triumph”(Diva Magazine) and the “perfect send up of the one woman show” (The Guardian)
Temi has run acting workshops everywhere from the National Theatre, The Old Vic and the RSC. She ran Soho Theatre’s Cabaret and Drag Lab for several years and has run writing workshops at The British Library, The Monobox and even Netflix Brazil (!).
This series of workshops began as Temi developed Main Character Energy and has been shared with the National Youth Theatre REP company and Soho Theatre Makers Lab. The sessions are designed to help you find your own unique creative spark and empower you to make the art that only you can make.
