About this Event
Open Play sessions are a relaxed opportunity to practice your mahjong skills, meet other players, and enjoy the game in a friendly, welcoming environment. Whether you've just learned or are an experienced player, all are welcome.
Please note that Open Play is intended for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong. Because mahjong is a game with unique rules, strategy, and vocabulary, it isn't something most people can learn simply by sitting down at the table. If you've never played before, we encourage you to join us for a Mahjong 101 class first. Once you have the fundamentals, Open Play is the perfect place to build confidence, gain experience, and connect with other players.
We are fostering a new and growing community of enthusiastic players. We give grace, answer questions, and take time at the table to support newer players as they learn so we can build a community of strong, confident players together.
We provide mahjong sets, racks, mats, and cards for use during the session—just bring yourself and be ready to play! American Legion West Jefferson 9701 US-40, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162 YOU DO NOT NEED TO PICKUP YOUR TICKETS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. We will check you in on arrival.
