Curious about Mahjong, or a recently introduced enthusiast looking to play with others at your level? Join us on Wednesday, November 11, at The Green House in Euclid for a beginner-friendly evening of Mahjong designed to help you enjoy the game in a supportive and fun environment.
Beginners are invited to take part in a 101 lesson where we'll go over the basics and play a few rounds of "Messy Mahjong" to learn how to build a winning hand, while emerging players are welcome to take the refresher course or just dive right into open/guided play at tables with others still mastering the tiles.
All Mahjong equipment will be provided for use, so just bring yourself and a desire to dive in. (We will also provide a beginner card for those learning, but you may want to bring your 2026 NMJL card if you plan to participate in independent play!) Non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks will also be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own drinks/food of any kind.
Oh, and did we mention we'll be giving away a floating Mahjong table to one lucky winner? (Hello, hot tub/pool!) There will also be a few other fun door prizes to keep your Mahjong momentum going beyond the event.
