MAGICLAND:
A NEW MUSICAL COMEDY BY JAYMZ BEE
When the Goddess Athena falls for a mortal man, she gives up her immortality for love — only to discover being human is far more complicated than she imagined. MagicLand is a musical comedy fantasy directed by Jaymz Bee, written by Jaymz Bee & Robert Priest, and produced by Jaymz Bee and Lorenzo DiGianfelice.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Every artist has one idea they carried since childhood, folded up small and kept in a back pocket, waiting for the moment they were foolish enough, or brave enough, to unfold it in public.
Mine was a musical about Greek gods stuck being human. I’d wanted an Oscar for it once, the way a kid wants a bicycle, badly and without much thought as to what he’d do once he had it. By the time I actually made the thing, decades later, the Oscar had quietly excused itself from the conversation.
What was left, and what turned out to matter, was the simpler and harder ambition: to tell the story exactly as I heard it in my head, with nobody standing between me and the frame.
