About this Event
Madras Fabric and Zine Workshop
Madras fabric is part of Caribbean culture, heritage, and tradition. It's also easily identifiable in the Caribbean community.
Do you wear Madras? Do you have clothing, accessories, or creative ways in which you use it? Do you have memories about Madras that you'd love to share? Or are you simply interested in learning more about Madras culture?
Join Jennifer Laurent Smart (Sakafet London) for an inspiring drop-in community event to capture voices and stories about Madras and learn some zine-making techniques with Korantema Anyimadu.
In 2027 Sakafet London is curating a display about Madras fabric as part of the ‘Patterns’ exhibition at UCL Culture Lab.
