Madison's hardest working Bluegrass band, Soggy Prairie, is proud to host the Madison Bluegrass Roundabout, a monthly Tuesday night series highlighting Southern Wisconsin's Bluegrass scene. The series will feature new and upcoming bands, as well as well-established groups. Each month will feature a set from Soggy Prairie followed by a set from a guest band.The November show will feature a blue water/blue state theme, anchored (pun intended) by our annual performance the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The twenty-fifth installment of the MBR takes us back to Illinois, with a fantastic group called THE LUCKY PICKERS.
Born in the winter of 2019 out of the vibrant Northern Illinois roots scene, this acoustic powerhouse brings a high-energy blend of Americana, traditional bluegrass, and vintage country to the stage. What started as a casual side project between seasoned touring songwriters Despina Pafralides (Fox Crossing Stringband) and Caleb Peters (Miles Over Mountains) quickly caught fire, evolving into a dynamic string band featuring a rotating cast of the Midwest's finest multi-instrumentalists. Driven by soaring, tight vocal harmonies and lightning-fast acoustic picking, the Lucky Pickers effortlessly shift gears from soulful folk ballads to foot-stomping bluegrass breakdowns. Get ready for a captivating mix of heartfelt originals and reimagined classics.
